YOUR QUICK GUIDE

HOW IT WORKS

ARENA is a universal tournament platform — any sport, any format, any size. Whether you're running the show or playing in it, here's what each role does, step by step.

📱
ONE LINK, ONE CODE

The admin shares a link and gives you an access code (or a printed QR card). Open the link, enter your code — that's it. No sign-up, no app download, no account.

PICK YOUR SPORT

ARENA carries a deep-dive guide for each sport — only the rules, events, and scoring quirks that apply to the one you pick. No need to scroll past sports you don't care about.

⚙️
ADMIN
  1. 1Create a tournament — pick the sport (Football, Basketball, EAFC, eFootball, Rocket League, Valorant, or define your own custom sport), choose your platform (PS5/Xbox/PC for esports, or a physical venue), set roster size and side size (e.g. roster of 4, playing 2v2), pick a format (Swiss, Groups+KO, or Round Robin), and configure points, tiebreakers, and stations. Each sport has its own deep-dive guide — click any sport card on the picker to see exactly how scoring, positions, and rules work for that sport
  2. 2Register teams — add them manually, download a CSV template to fill in offline, bulk import via CSV/JSON, or let teams self-register with access codes
  3. 3Add referees and assign them to stations — each gets a unique login code
  4. 4Generate QR cards for teams and referees — print or share digitally for instant login
  5. 5Go live — the system generates Round 1 pairings automatically. While the round is staged (frozen), matchups stay SECRET from all screens — teams, TV, referees, and spectators see a pre-match warmup animation instead. Drag matches to reorder, swap any two team slots by clicking chips to fine-tune pairings, or hit RE-SHUFFLE for a fresh random draw. When you hit GO LIVE for Round 1, every screen erupts with an epic 10-9-8… countdown complete with drum beats and a stadium-style 'LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!' before revealing matchups one by one. Subsequent rounds skip the countdown and jump straight to the matchup reveal
  6. 6Monitor everything in real-time — standings, match scores, and broadcasts. Use the BROADCAST tool to push a message with tickboxes that pick which screens it shows on: team phones, the public live page, the TV display, or referee consoles. Narrow further to specific teams or specific referees (e.g. a single team's phone, or one ref) — or leave the target picker on 'ALL' to fan out. Tick '🔔 Buzz phones' to also vibrate the targets in case the phone is in their pocket. Apply point adjustments or manual overrides if needed
  7. 7Stay on top of everything that needs your attention from the INBOX — a red count badge sits next to Tools and Settings, showing how many items are waiting. Open it to see referee dispute flags (with the reason and a Mark Resolved button) alongside team photos awaiting your approval. When a new flag fires mid-match, a dismissible banner pops at the top of the live page so you never miss it — and flagged matches get a red FLAGGED badge + border on the match card, plus a 'Flagged (N)' filter pill in the round selector to jump straight to them
  8. 8Adjust mid-tournament from Settings — change the station count (blocked only if a match is still assigned to a station you'd remove), change Swiss rounds (blocked only from going below rounds already played), change decisive final rounds, change match duration and break-between-rounds on the fly (applies to newly-generated rounds; in-flight matches keep their running timers), replace the tournament logo (it shows next to the name on the TV display, live leaderboard, and team dashboards), and add or remove teams one at a time (adding is locked once live; removing is blocked if the team is already in a match)
  9. 9Choose who can find your tournament — Settings → VISIBILITY toggles between Private (link-only, the default) and Public (listed on arena.mohibx.com so anyone can watch). Flip to Public for community tournaments you want shareable; keep it Private for office leagues or invite-only events
  10. 10Add sponsors with logos, media galleries, social links, and a catalogue/brochure PDF — they appear on the live leaderboard and TV display
  11. 11Set up tournament gallery — paste an upload folder link (Google Drive) and a view folder. Everyone gets 'Upload Photos' and 'View Gallery' buttons. The gallery displays photos inline with a full-screen lightbox, streamed from Google Drive
👥
TEAM
  1. 1Your admin gives you an access code or a QR card
  2. 2Open the link → enter your code → you're in
  3. 3Upload your team photo — it shows across standings, TV, and match screens (admin approves it)
  4. 4See your next match, live scores, and full standings on your phone — during the warmup phase before GO LIVE, matchups are hidden and you see a hype animation building anticipation. For Round 1, the admin's GO LIVE triggers a 10-second countdown with drum beats on your phone (it vibrates on each tick!) before revealing your opponent with a dramatic animation
  5. 5Get a buzz + popup when the previous match finishes and your station is ready — no more missing your slot
  6. 6Get notified when a new round starts
  7. 7See organizer broadcasts as a banner at the top of your dashboard — water break, take your seats, round starting in 5, etc. Banners auto-dismiss after ~20s (they queue one at a time so nothing piles up), or tap ✕ to close early. If the admin flags a broadcast as '🔔 Buzz', your phone vibrates on arrival so you notice even with the phone in your pocket
  8. 8View tournament rules and rulebooks shared by the admin (if published to teams)
🎮
REFEREE
  1. 1Log in with your access code → pick which station you manage
  2. 2Upload your profile photo — visible on your station dashboard
  3. 3Run the coin toss to set home/away, then start the match timer
  4. 4Tap +1 to log a goal — the player picker opens with the team's roster so you can attribute the scorer in one tap. Mid-game chaos? Hit SKIP and backfill the scorer later before finalizing
  5. 5Log every event the same way — yellow/red cards, warnings, assists, MVP, and any sport-specific event (basketball 3pt, Valorant ace, Rocket League epic save) all get +/-1 buttons per team. The −1 next to each event removes the most recent matching event so a wrong tap is one-tap reversible
  6. 6Sport-modular scoring — Football, Basketball, FIFA/EAFC, eFootball, Rocket League, Valorant, or a custom event set you define. Score deltas, event types, positions, the match clock (halves vs sets vs overs), and player picker all adapt automatically to the picked sport
  7. 7Backfill attribution before finalize — every event chip in the events list is editable. A counter ("3 to attribute") reminds you what's still pending so the player tally for top scorers/cards is accurate
  8. 8Track pauses per team per half, report incidents (disconnects, crashes, conduct), and flag disputes
  9. 9Record forfeits with one tap — configurable forfeit score auto-applied
  10. 10Finalize the match when it's done — standings update instantly with card accumulation and point deductions
  11. 11Between rounds, the admin stages and reorders the next round — your station shows a warmup animation while matchups are being set up, and unlocks with a reveal when they hit GO LIVE. With Progressive Rounds enabled, the next round auto-generates and activates the instant all matches finish — zero downtime
  12. 12Access tournament rules, quick-reference settings, and match-day documents shared by the admin
  13. 13Toggle between Ref Mode and View Mode — tap VIEW in the header to follow the full tournament live (standings, all matches, results) when you're on break, then tap REF to switch back to your console controls
🏆
SPECTATOR
  1. 1No login needed — just open the link the admin shares, or browse the public directory at arena.mohibx.com to discover live tournaments any organizer has flipped to public (live action surfaces at the top)
  2. 2Sign in with Google to follow a tournament — hit the ☆ pill in the corner of any /live page. Followed tournaments collect under /profile → Watching so you can come back to them. Your /profile also tracks every tournament you organize, co-admin, referee, and play in — one identity wears every hat
  3. 3Watch live scores, standings, and match progress
  4. 4Tap any team to see their full record — match history, sport-specific stats (goals, cards, etc.), forfeits, and referee-reported incidents
  5. 5Works on any device — phone, tablet, or big-screen TV
  6. 6At the venue, scan the WATCH LIVE QR in the TV display's corner — your phone jumps straight to this tournament's live page (operators can toggle the QR on/off per screen)
  7. 7Scores update in real-time, no refreshing required
  8. 8Tap 'Explore All Sponsors' to browse sponsor profiles — logos, galleries, social links, and messages from the owners
  9. 9Browse the tournament photo gallery inline — thumbnails, full-screen lightbox, swipe through. Or tap 'Upload Photos' to add your own shots to the shared folder
QUICK ANSWERS
No. It's a website — open the link in any browser.
The app tells you your next match, console number, and opponent. You'll see it the moment the round is generated. Match times also reflow automatically — when a match runs long or short, every later match (across all consoles) shifts to absorb the delta, rounded to the nearest 5 min so players always have a small buffer.
Yes — live standings are visible to everyone, updating in real-time as matches finish.
Open the public link — no code needed. The TV display works great on a big screen too.
Yes — tap 'Explore All Sponsors' on the live leaderboard. Each sponsor has a full profile page with their logo, about section, media gallery, owner's message, social media links, and a catalogue/brochure link if they've shared one.
If the admin has published rules, you'll see a 'Rules' tab in your team or referee dashboard with PDFs, documents, or inline text.
FEATURE TIMELINE
Everything we’ve shipped, newest first.
MAY 2026
  • Setup form gets smarter — Swiss is no longer the defaultNEW
New tournaments now force a deliberate format pick before the rest of the setup unlocks. The form hides bye-mode for non-Swiss formats, auto-collapses subs for 1v1 or full-roster squads, and folds eFootball into the EA FC preset so the sport picker stops asking the same question twice.
    ADMIN TOOLSADMIN
  • Co-admin invite linksNEW
Tournament owners can generate shareable invite links for collaborators. Recipients sign in with Google and accept in one click — they appear instantly on the owner's /profile Co-admin tab with the correct role.
    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Tournament ownership transferNEW
Owners can hand off a tournament to any existing co-admin. Both roles swap atomically — the former owner becomes Co-Admin and the new owner takes full control.
    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Quick Setup WizardNEW
Pick a sport, choose team count, and select a format — Arena recommends which formats actually work and pre-fills smart defaults. Done in under 2 minutes, then jump straight to team registration.

    LIVE CONTROLREFEREEADMIN
  • Officials roster & match assignmentNEW
Admin can designate head referee, assistant referee, VAR, and fourth-official roles per tournament, and assign assistant referees to specific matches. The TV view shows 'Officiated by [Name]' on each live match card.

    EXPERIENCE & POLISHADMINSPECTATOR
  • Football (real, physical sport)NEW
Real-world football joins the sport registry alongside EAFC/FIFA. Positions (GK/DEF/MID/FWD), real events (corner, free kick, penalty shootout, sub, offside), card-accumulation defaults, and full halves+extra-time+stoppage match-clock model. Variants live as config knobs (5v5 / 7v7 / 11v11 / futsal).
    EXPERIENCE & POLISHADMINREFEREE
  • Universal rule toggles (everything is a knob)NEW
Every behavior — wall clock, card accumulation, halves, suspensions, sub limits, even whether the player picker is mandatory — is a toggle in Setup → Rules with a sensible default per sport. Beginners ship on defaults; power users tune.
    ADMIN TOOLSADMIN
  • Per-sport How-It-Works guidesNEW
Landing-page How-It-Works stays generic. Each sport gets its own deep-dive at /how-it-works/[sport] showing only that sport's events, positions, clock, and rule knobs. Cricket organizers don't have to scroll past football's card system.
    EXPERIENCE & POLISHADMINREFEREESPECTATOR
  • Request a sportNEW

    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Player positions on rostersNEW
Sport-aware position field on every player (GK/DEF/MID/FWD for football). Position chip renders next to the player name in pickers and leaderboards; sports without positions hide the dropdown automatically.

APRIL 2026
  • Sign in with Google — public signup
Anyone with a Google account can now create their own tournament workspace. New signups land as tenant-scoped admins who only see what they create or are invited to. Existing username/password admins keep working in parallel.
    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Multi-tenant tournament ownership
Tournaments now have an owner, and the dashboard only shows tournaments you own or were invited to. Superusers still see everything; the legacy single-admin behavior is preserved by giving the original admin global scope.
    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Tournament Type setup step
Setup now starts with sport, default platform (PS5/Xbox/PC/online/court/table or custom text), roster size, side size (1v1, 2v2, NvN), and max subs — every dimension is independent and stored alongside the tournament config.
    PLATFORMADMIN
  • Sport-modular scoring engine
Every tournament picks its sport — FIFA/EAFC, eFootball, Rocket League, Valorant, basketball, or custom — and the referee console adapts: event types, score deltas, and player picker all change with the sport.
    EXPERIENCE & POLISHADMINREFEREE
  • Dropped Man-of-Match event
MOTM was a football-only event that cluttered the referee console without driving meaningful behavior. It's gone from the FIFA preset and every UI surface; sports that have an MVP-style event keep theirs (Rocket League, Valorant, basketball).
    EXPERIENCE & POLISHADMINREFEREE
  • Fast +/− event logger with player picker
Score in one tap: +N opens a roster picker so the scorer is attributed instantly, or hit SKIP to backfill later. Every event type gets the same +/− T1/T2 grid; remove a wrong tap with one click.
    LIVE CONTROLREFEREEADMIN
  • Backfill scorers after the whistle
Refs can log goals and cards without picking a player during a fast-paced match; pending events highlight in the events list and a counter nudges them to attribute before finalizing. Every chip is editable.

  • Multi-tenant scoping
Multiple organizers share the platform — each one only sees their own tournaments, teams, and referees.
